Episode 22. Chasing the Bright Side with Jess Ekstrom
Jun 30, 2020 Season 2 Episode 22
Kristina Daniele

On Today’s Episode I’m speaking with Jess Ekstrom the founder and CEO of Headbands of Hope, a company that donates headbands to kids with cancer with every headband sold. Headbands of Hope has been featured on the TODAY Show, Good Morning America, QVC, The View and worn by celebrities like Kelsea Ballerini and Khloe Kardashian. More importantly, Headbands of Hope has donated over 600k headbands, reaching every single children's hospital in America and 22 countries.

Jess is also the bestselling author of Chasing the Bright Side and creator of Mic Drop Workshop, an online course and community for women to become paid keynote speakers.

And during COVID-19 her company Headbands of Hope stopped production of headbands for several weeks and just made masks.  They shifted their model that for every headband sold on their site they donated a mask.  So far they have donated over 50,000 masks to U.S. accute hospitals!  Jess is an inspiration and she continues to give back again and again.

On this episode we will expose...

- "Meet people where they are"... How Jess was able to restructure her event schedule and price structure as well as her entire business model too!  (I love this approach!)
-Priming the Pump for next year
-How to create unique mutual exchanges with speakers who are looking to share content
-Re-envisioning your business and event strategies to create NEW solutions that you haven't tried before
-Repurposing your cancelled or postponed or cancelled conference materials
-How we can use this time to reflect and take a positive approach to some of the issues we are running into with our events
-In what ways can you take a little time out of your day and give back to the industry, your relationships and communities during this time
